Set Rentals – sets and props for rent or purchase

Amherst Community Theater of Amherst, MA offers many of our set pieces for rent or sale at a very reasonable price.

Our sets are designed by local architects and professional designers who have been designing community theater sets for many years, and they are built and painted by an experienced volunteer crew led by professional builders.  Many of our builders and painters have been creating sets for over 25 years, and the quality can be seen in the results. All of our set pieces are base-painted and back-painted with fire-retardant paint. Our pieces are covered in muslin to provide a uniform surface for painting.

Renters are expected to rent a truck as needed to pick up the items in Amherst, MA.

• Description: Used in Beauty and the Beast. 2 story, 10’ diameter; one side is castle with West Wing on 2nd level; other side is town.  Pedestal and glass globe for rose included; hole in 2nd floor for controlling rose-petal-dropping from below.  Includes removable bars for dungeon for castle side; hiding space for Beast in West Wing when not in scene; rotation manually powered by one human being from behind. Including platforms;  with surrounding platforms and stairs.

• Tailor Shop

• Description: Custom built for Anne of Green Gables; includes 4 genuine Amish built wagon wheels complete with bearings for easy rolling. We propelled it across stage with a gentle push from one side of the stage and with the assistance of a gentle pull on black tie line from the other side of the stage. Easily carries 2 actors.
